Respiratory or GI infections	500 mg twice daily for 7–14 days	Streptococcus pneumoniae may require up to 750 mg twice daily
Gonorrhoea	Single 500 mg dose	Follow with doxycycline if chlamydia not excluded
Severe/systemic infections (bone/joint, typhoid, skin)	500–750 mg twice daily, possibly prolonged duration (weeks)	Adjust per clinical response
