⚠️ Important Safety Note: Sulfonylurea Class
Prescription Required: This medication must be taken strictly as prescribed.
Risk of Hypoglycemia: Gliclazide can cause hypoglycemia (dangerously low blood sugar). Symptoms include sweating, dizziness, confusion, and tremors. Always carry a source of fast-acting sugar (glucose tablets, juice, candy). The risk is increased by skipping meals, excessive exercise, or alcohol consumption.
Administration: The tablet should be taken with meals (usually breakfast and dinner) to coincide with the post-meal rise in blood sugar and reduce the risk of stomach upset. DO NOT skip meals after taking this medication.
