⚠️ Important Safety Note: Sulfonylurea Class

• Prescription Required: This medication must be taken strictly as prescribed.

• Risk of Hypoglycemia: Gliclazide can cause hypoglycemia (dangerously low blood sugar). Symptoms include sweating, dizziness, confusion, and tremors. Always carry a source of fast-acting sugar (glucose tablets, juice, candy). The risk is increased by skipping meals, excessive exercise, or alcohol consumption.

• Administration: The tablet must be taken with breakfast and swallowed whole (do not crush or chew) to ensure the modified release mechanism works correctly. DO NOT skip meals after taking this medication.

• Kidney/Liver Disease: Use with caution in patients with severe kidney or liver disease, as this increases the risk of hypoglycemia.
