ℹ️ Precautions & Safety Notes

• Contraindications: Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetirizine or hydroxyzine 

• Side effects: Common side effects include somnolence, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, gastrointestinal discomfort. Rare but serious reactions such as allergic swelling, difficulty breathing, or severe rash should prompt medical attention .

• Drug interactions: Generally low potential for interactions. No significant interactions have been observed with theophylline, azithromycin, pseudoephedrine, ketoconazole, or erythromycin 

• Dose adjustments:

  • Renal impairment: For eGFR 30–50 mL/min, reduce dose to half (5 mg daily). Not recommended if eGFR <10 mL/min.

  • Elderly patients: May require dose reduction in proportion to renal function decline
