Indications

Norvis 50mg Tablet is indicated for:Relief of muscle spasms in the digestive tract, biliary system, bladder, and uterus.

• Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system.

• Treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynecological diseases. 

Mechanism of Action

Tiemonium Methylsulphate acts as a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine and histamine. It strengthens the calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins, inhibiting intracellular contractile proteins in visceral cells, thereby reducing visceral spasm and pain. 

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: 2–6 tablets daily, divided into multiple doses.

• Children: 3 mg/kg body weight daily, divided into multiple doses.

• Injection: 1 injection 3 times daily, administered slowly via intravenous or intramuscular route.

• Suppository: 20 mg suppository two or three times daily via rectal route. 

Side Effects

Potential side effects may include:

• Dry mouth

• Dilated pupils

• Increased intraocular pressure

• Flushing

• Dry skin

• Bradycardia followed by tachycardia

• Palpitations

• Arrhythmias

• Difficulty in urination

• Constipation

Contraindications

Norvis 50mg Tablet should not be used in:

• Patients with a history of angle-closure glaucoma.

• Individuals with urethroprostatic disorders involving a risk of urine retention. 

Precautions

• Chronic bronchitis

• Coronary insufficiency

• Renal or hepatic insufficiency

• Elderly patients

Patients should be monitored for visual disturbances, as these can impair the ability to drive or operate machinery.
